At Riders Cycles we make sure that every costumer receives the perfect bike with the perfect fit. Specialized Body Geometry Fit System allows Shayne to make your bike customized to you. Having the right fit on a bike ensures that the rider is able to pedal longer, faster and in greater comfort than ever before.

The Road Just Got More Comfortable

You don’t need a new bike to benefit from a professional bike fit. As long as the bike fits you within reason a capable bike fitter can make it perfect for your needs. However, if you do decide to buy a new bicycle there are a few key steps in the selection process you should be made aware of. First, the style of bicycle, this is determined by the type of rider you are and any fitness related goals you may have. Next, you will need to find the correct frame size and do some initial size adjustments. This is a huge service only offered by specialty bicycle retailers. The final and most important step is the fitting of your bike. Many factors are taken into account during the fitting process, anatomy, flexibility, injury history and current cycling concerns to name a few. Adjustments to the seat, handlebar and foot position all contribute to you being more comfortable, efficient, and stable on the bike. A certified fit will make you safer and decrease your risk of injury during your rides. Whether you are young or young at heart, a first time rider or entering the Tour de France, having your bike fitted to you will make your time in the saddle more enjoyable.

Why Choose BikeFit for Your Bike Fit?

Many people say they can fit you to your bike. So how do you decide who to choose to do your fitting?  Based on years of feedback and experience, we are confident our system will give you the ideal fit.

So why choose BikeFit?

First, the BikeFit fitting system is the second oldest in the world.

Next, we are the first to incorporate the front view, and the first system based on angles and alignment rather than just using a formula, the basis for all software/vision bike fitting systems.

Additionally, our products are used by Olympic Champions, World Champions, and Grand Tour winners, as well as average athletes.

Finally, it is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. To that end, many of our products are used by our competition.

You’ve chosen BikeFit–what’s next?

It’s important to first understand the difference between bike sizing and a bike fit. If you’re purchasing a new bike, remember that bike sizing is done to determine the correct bike frame size.

Bike fitting, on the other hand, alters the bike to fit the cyclist’s unique body architecture to maximize efficiency.  Bike sizing and bike fitting can – and sometimes should – go hand in hand.  We have fit some cyclists to their recently purchased bikes only to learn the frame size is too tall or short which limits the range of adjustments that can be done during a fit.

A BikeFit bike fitting uses a multidimensional approach that looks at every aspect of the cyclist and their connection to their bike.

During a BikeFit fit the athlete is asked a series of questions to determine their cycling goals, identify prior injuries, highlight discomfort felt when riding, and other pertinent questions. We then watch the athlete pedal, measure the athlete both off the bike and on the bike, and continue asking questions about how they feel while he or she is riding.

One area where BikeFit differentiates itself from other fit systems is our focus on the foot-pedal interface.  For example, an average cyclist completing a 100 mile ride (“a century”) will have rotated the pedals 54,000 times* their legs/feet are clearly doing a lot of work. In our emphasis on the foot/pedal connection, we cover fore/aft, side-to-side, tilt/angle, and rotation of the cleats.
