We just sold Chris M. a BMC Road Racer SL01, complete with the Shimano Ultegra groupset.  Chris is presently training for the Ride to Conquer Cancer later on this year.

Giro "Feature"

This is the latest addition to Giros line of helmets is the Feature. It is their new all-mountain trail ride helmet and a terrific helmet for Super-D style riding.  Giro’s idea was to create a  helmet that keeps the depth and coverage you get from a skate style design but with a lot more ventilation and a true visor. The visor design mimics what you get on their rugged full face helmets with around 15 degrees. Come into the store and try one on……..

First: Thanks to Geoff Robson for letting us use his pictures!

Shayne went up Island to Naniamo this weekend to race the Cross on the Rock series double header.

He had a great time and did well!

Saturday kicked it off with the Island championships at Beban Park. This is a very well known course. It has hosted this series a few times as well as Canadian Cyclocross Nationals.

Shayne had a great race, getting the holeshot off the start (holeshot is first person leading through the first corner). He made it most of the way through the first lap in the lead, but took a corner a little bit too fast and gave up a few places.

He ended up finishing 14 out of 27 starters!

Next up was Sunday’s Bowen park. This is a very hard, fast course. Lots of up and down. It also has a very long stair set that you have to run every lap and a long sand pit with a turn halfway through.

Shayne did better overall Sunday. Finishing 15/36. For a course that is not his style he did AWESOME.

Here are a few more pictures. Winner of Sunday Tyler Trace (Trek Red Truck) was riding the sand so fast he was getting a 5 foot stream of sand coming out from behind him. Also Kevin Calhoun ( with Tyler in the trees) Was doing very well, matching Tyler in pace. He suffered a mechanical (snapped his frame!) and didn’t finish the race. Runner up Kelly Guest is also below.
